The Blogger platform is often understood as a less versatile and less powerful solution against Wordpress. In fact, we at Iconshock choose Wordpress after testing both side by side and reading a lot of reviews. But times have changed and Blogger is becoming a competitor with plenty of aces below their sleeve. Check out this great post by Sean P. Aune for Mashable.
I thought I was the only one that hated tiny links! Check out this not so glamorous list by Dmitry Fadeyev for Smashing Magazine, where he exposes for us the ultimate and most popular sins of interface design.
She blogs, she cooks, she drinks coffee. Here it is, the one the only; Sneh Roy! Sneh is the brains, eyes and fingers behind the website “Little Box of Ideas” which is steadily rising into one of the most popular design blogs in the whole net. She offers at her site very high quality freebies and has featured interviews with relevant personalities of the design world as logo Guru Jacob Cass and illustrator Von Glitschka. She is also behind the curtain of the fabulous cooking blog “Gel’s Kitchen” and the famous “Stars we love“ celebrity site. Her vibrant and contemporary style are real hooks at first. But either as a client or a as a friend, what really keeps you hanging to her is her warmth and honesty.
We meet tons of people in the course of a lifetime. And if you really think about it, it is rare if someone leaves and impression that lasts more than an hour. Don’t take me wrong here, I don’t want to sound like I’m papa scrooge, it’s just something I believe is worth giving it a thought. The point I’m trying to make with all this babbling, is that I really wish half the people I meet daily made such an impression on me as Sneh. And I know many of you readers will be touched by her kind vibe too. A Special person indeed, and a real pleasure to interview.

Call it the “Maluch”, “El Bototo”, a “Bolha” o “El Polaquito” the Fiat 126p is one of most beloved cars in history. It was designed as a low cost family car for the working class in central Europe and South America in the early 70’s. Thousands of fans pay tribute to the little bugger in automotive clubs around the globe. Pretty nostalgic icon set by Hubert Zasepa. Comes in PNG and ICO format.
Sometimes web developers think that the flashier a site is the better. And it it true that a little eye candy doesn’t hurt to attract visitors, but at the end it’s all about usability and content. Check out this very useful post by Steven Snell for Smashing Magazine.
This guy Guoduan Bu (or kidcomic as he calls himself) sure makes genius icons. His style is photo real and superbly detailed. Today I wanted to feature this very nice high tech themed icon set for your OS. The choice of colours and the design is very clever. Files come in PNG and ICO format.
